As a bold challenge to this discriminatory colonial attitude, the great freedom fighter and son of Odisha, Utkal Gaurav Madhusudan Das, founded the Union Club at Cuttack in the year 1914. Guided by his noble vision, the Club was created by the Indians and for the Indians, offering a dignified social space that upheld values of unity, respect, and inclusiveness.
